FUNDRAISING CAMPAIGN FOR RAVENSWORTH VILLAGE HALL

The Hall was originally the village school, but for around the past 50 years it has been used as the community hall for the village.

The building was upgraded and improved in 1983 by a group of local volunteers but in recent years the condition has gradually deteriorated and recently a new team of local residents has been actively planning and managing improvements to the fabric of the building.

Since April 2019 we have raised around £12,500.

In 2019 we completed the following improvements: repaired guttering and roof,  improved drainage around outhouse building, painted external doors and walls of the toilet block, painted and improved the hall entrance, planted bulbs around hall and the village green thanks to a donation from Ravensworth Nurseries, purchased the following new equipment from two successive grant applications from Richmondshire Council (£1180.72) including: microwave, industrial hoover, tablecloths, coffee machine, 6 chaffer dishes, soup kettle and automatic hot water boiler.

Whilst the plan by Ravensworth Parish Council is to improve the village hall to be an attractive community venue, the COVID crisis has changed life for all of us and the health crisis requires community venues to be safe for user groups, more than ever before.

We have been fortunate to receive a grant on 6th April 2020 of £9936.00 from the National Lottery for All Community Fund just before the lockdown for our identified project to refurbish the toilets with disability access. The COVID lockdown created significant delays but the work was completed 25th June. See details here
